I have 2 of these - one that is fully operational, and 1 needing repair

They seem to be identical except one is marked Clio in the corner of the screen and the other is marked Clio 2. Can anyone tell me the difference between a Clio and a Clio 2?

I have nine of these, and I've never seen one that says 'Clio 2.' Can you provide an image of what you're talking about?

I checked online, and found this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/MAINSTREET-NETWORKS-CLIO-2-UNTESTED-PLEASE-...

If you look closely at the first image, it does indeed say 'Clio 2' on the upper right corner. I assume this is what you're talking about. This is the first time I've seen one labeled 'Clio 2,' so I really couldn't say what it means. As I noted in my review of this device here, the ROM chip is easily removable, and the characteristic CE 3.0 "Windows Powered" logo on the lower right corner seemed to suggest a pending upgrade to H/PC 2000 or a core version of CE 3.0. I wonder if that's what the Clio 2 is.

Looking a little deeper, I managed to find MainStreet Networks' Web site in the Wayback Machine, and indeed there was a plan for what appears to be a core CE 3.0 upgrade, though I don't see anything about it ever actually happening:

There was even a forum on it, and people there were asking about when the upgrade would come, but it doesn't look like they ever got an answer:

well believe it or not, the ebay listing is the actual clio that I bought.

I got for spare parts, but I soon found the only problem is the charger jack. I swapped the batteries and it booted. went through the setup screens and works quite well.

Both have the same ROM version and build number, so it's just weird.

So it's H/PC Pro.

I had a feeling that was yours. I found exactly nothing else online. Maybe the only "Clio 2" in the world.
