Good evening everyone. Last year I bought a handheld PC with an apparent dead battery. On my original forum post I was willing to send it to someone who can fix the battery on it.

My question is, is there anyone who knows how to do so? If that's not possible, does anyone have a working spare that I can buy off of? Any offerings are welcome.

Doesn't this model also accept regular or rechargeable AA?

I tried that before, and no it does not.

I should reiterate this

It doesn't work because the batteries are too short to fit in the slot. It might work if I put a wad of tinfoil on the end in order to make a connection, but that sounds risky.
Really, all I need is a refurbished battery pack for it. It'd be nice if you could plug it in the AC adapter and use it without the battery.

Show spoiler...

Well, bit the bullet and decided to do this. I haven't turned it on yet because I need to get the OK before I do anything stupid.
Is this safe? Will it kill me or not?

the good news is: I survived
the bad news is: didn't turn on. I figure there must be some kind of special battery holder thing that came with it like some other devices, no? There has to be a way to power it without the rechargable battery thing right?

I have exactly the same dilemma with one of my Cassiopeia A-11s (but the opposite sizing). There was indeed a special battery holder, which took slightly smaller than AA cells and a rechargeable circuit. It also has a regular AA battery pack which fits them perfectly. Unsure how relevant, but perhaps there's a simple way to make a connection to both ends that doesn't involve tin foil?
