Has anyone ever used Jabber?

From what I understand my data has to pass through another server to get to AOL/MSN/etc...

Is this secure?

Just wondering, because this program sounds great if it is.

You have to trust the server operator basically.

I'm not sure if jabber.hpcfactor.com is allowing gateway services at the moment. It may be.

The security aspect is my concern also. Funny, the very first time I tried Imov (don't ask waht server I used) I had an important email account hijacked. Coincidence? I don't know. So I'm leery.

C:amie, perhaps the status of the hpcfactor jabber served can be place on the homepage ?

Installed it (imov messenger basic) on my piddle pee cee (axim x3i), and well... I couldn't get half the gateways to work, and the interface boggled me.

I guess I'll just have to wait until our guys port Gaim

I've got a Jabber server, though I don't think its configured correctly for all the Protocols.

If you'd like to use it, please contact me.
