There was a CE2.11 ROM upgrade for the HP620lx

I recently found a HP620lx in the Netherlands which claimed to run Windows CE3.0.. Of course I thought.. impossible.
Upon closer look, it does indeed have a ROM upgrade, but for CE2.11, aka Handheld PC Professional 3.0.

I own 2 HP 620lx, and I never knew HP actually made upgrades for them, the more you know!

Yep, that's right. Very difficult to get hold of. Insurgent had one back when we started as hpcfactor.com, but would never let me have it #meanie

yeah I discovered this too recently after being confused about why my 620lx was running CE 2.11, pretty cool

Even rarer were the Sharp HC-4*00 CE 2.11 ROMs. From what I can recall reading they were only available for a month or two before Sharp dropped support. They may be the only grayscale-screened HPCs with CE 2.11 ROMs.

Speaking of Sharp, (but not Windows CE) there was one called SHARP PC-3000 sold overseas.
It had CGA resolution and PCMCIA Type 2 slot.

PC-3000 ran MS-DOS and had 8088 CPU @ 10MHz.

My 660LX also has the 2.11 ROMs. It's unusual, but it's not really an ideal CE2.11 device because of the glacial SH3.
