So I've posted pictures of my boats here in previous posts. My big boat was a 25ft Bayliner Trophy. Well the other day we had some pretty heavy rain. Not 100% sure but I believe the aft bilge pump failed. Then the water came over the stern and shorted out 4 batteries preventing middeck bilge from working. Anyways my boat sunk sitting in the harbor.

Pics show the sunk boat and then SeaTow refloating it. Had 160 gallon of fuel on board I just put in last week...arrrgh!!!! Boat is totalled...thank goodness for insurance.

Anyways this all happened 3 weeks ago and I've going crazy not having my big boat to take out.

Today I bought a replacement. A 2000 Bayliner Ciera 2655. It is in fantastic shape for a 20 year old boat with only 309 hours certified on the engine. Has onboard air and generator. Has the optional turbocharged 310 hp engine.

It's a used boat, but at $32,000 it is a great deal.

Now I'm happy again.

Nice boat!

We have a small port near our house.
I think that port is mainly for fishing boats though.

We have another boat place beside the river, many people enjoy boating and jet skiing there.

Hmmm, could have sworn I saw a guy who looks a lot like you sneeking into your old boat and looked like he was yanking on the bilge pump wires or maybe the bathtub drain stopper with one hand as he was glancing at some insurance papers held in the other... just saying.
Evidently, the captain doesn't always go down with the ship!! The new boat is nice...and no, I don't think you should name it "Titanic" like you did the last one!! Enjoy.

Seems right up there with that Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare at 20,000 feet" with Wm Shatner...

Nice boat! Glad you are 'happy' again. I haven't had watercraft since the '80s when a friend and I had an old jet boat. It was a lot of fun.

That's a bummer, but glad it worked out for ya. Really nice boat. Mind if I borrow it? Have some things I gotta pick up from Mexico...

Or catch 40,000 fish. So sorry to hear about your loss, but happy for your gain, too.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure that's what the Skipper said to Gilligan.

Yup...fishing gear, chart plotter, gps, vhf radios x2, guns, port generator...all to the tuned of about $7,000 USD.

But all covered under insurance.

At least you were insured. New boat looks nice though. How does she handle?

Rides well for only a 27 footer. Gets up on plane easy...not too bad on fuel...2mpg at cruise...well almost 2. Only 70 gal fuel tank...old boat had 170 gal tank. So range is far less.

Hard to dock with single engine...not like when I had twins and could use them in opposing gears...but am not complaining. Big enough to easily tow my little 17' bowrider for fishing shallow water.

Wife took a ride in it...still turns green in the gills off land so she won't be going out in it again. Which makes it damn near perfect!

I was embarrassed today. Picture below shows an 11 ft Boston Whaler towing me and my boat to the loading ramps cause my boat won't go into gear. Not sure if its the shift cable or something broken in the Bravo 3 outdrive.
