Using the direct touch mode you can even use a capacitive screen stylus with your Gemini, bringing the experience closer to our beloved HPCs of old. I have a pretty decent capacitive stylus that works quite well on my Gemini. I bring it with me everywhere. Are you sure this is the right one?
I just received mine and what I thought would be a fine tip, has this clear disk at end of tip. Looks weird....and is about 7mm diameter.
Looked at Amazon listing again and now I see that it says if you want a fine tip, get:

| Yup, it has the disc, I thought it was clear to see in the pictures. I don’t get bothered by the disc though, so it is fine for me. Fine tip pens usually require some sort of power to “emulate” your finger touch, not to mention they’re more expensive. I liked the approach with the clear disc as it still kinda behaves like a fine tip pen but doesn’t need power (no hassle with recharging etc) and it is quite cheaper |

Saw the clear discs....somehow assumed that it was just a protective cover that you would remove to use stylus.

| I have the Adonit Jot Script Evernote Edition, it works very nice on my iPad.
Adonit has newer versions for Android, maybe you should check them out. Very good quality.
Adonit Dash 3 is $29.99.

Interesting, the Adonit 4 series stylus's have the same clear plastic tip as the Meko one I just received.

| Yeah, I guess there are about three types of stylus nowadays. Pointed tip, disc, and round soft one. |

I'm happy to see that it worked. Just as a final tip for a great experience using this, I like to use the Immersive App ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.draco.immersive ). This app hides the status bar and buttons bar so that you can enjoy Linux full screen on your device. Don't forget to set your resolution to 2160x1080 on your VNC settings inside Linux Deploy. |

| I had the same experience with gemian on gemini... it kind of sucks. I also installed Linux on android instead but didn't think to use the Linux partition for installation. The keyboard on my gemini stopped working and I am not sure if it is worth getting it repaired given the amount I used it.
I am an admin on the openpsion/linux-7110 project, if you want to know how anything works I'm happy to help. T2 etc are based on the kernels developed there. But the kernel versions are 2.4... so they can only boot very ancient versions of Linux (and at 36 MHz is there much point booting anything newer?) |

| By the way, did you update android on Gemini? I stuck with the old version because there were lots of reports of issues on the latest OS. But I am not sure if that would affect the Linux on Android experience |

| I tried running Android 8 on it and it was horrible. Overall system performance was very degraded, several crashes and hangs for no reason. I went back to Android 7 and I'm happy with it. Actually I'm using Linux on top of Android, like, 90% of the time. I've recently managed to upgrade my MATE installation to Focal Fossa (20.04) and will post here a tutorial on how to do it soon. Android 7 + Ubuntu 20.04 is a very pleasant experience. Everything works, keyboard, touch, external display, etc while I still have great performance with a recent linux distro running. |
