Hey there folks :-)

Im in search for one or two batteries for Compaq H3955 PDAs. I won two and they are working and in good shape, but the batteries are no good. Ive never owned any unit without a keyboard other than a Palm Tungsten E.

Given it's a 2002 device, even unsold, sealed inventory will likely have decayed at this juncture.

In all likelihood, you'll probably have to re-cell it or find someone who will do it for you.

Ok. Good to know.

Does anyone have any experience rebuilding these batteries ?

Im also gonna have to rebuild a battery for my Casio A-11. Or find a battery door so I can use standard batteries.

Thanks :-)

Is the A11 using the NH-10A tubular pack? 2.4v 1150mAh NiMh.
If you find a Stanley knife and carefully open the pack up and get some photos of the cells, we can probably find you replacements to solder in.

Heres pics of the units. The battery cable is the yellow cable next to the units.

The person did NOT include the old batteries. So I do not have the old ones to try to recell.

Ive searched far and wide and have had no luck finding any batteries for sale. Not sure where else to look currently. If anyone has a broken one of these with the battery plz let me know and then I could at least have somewhere to start. ;-)

Thanks folks

And the journey continues ;-)

This is the battery, it has the connector on it for the ribbon cable. But there has got to be somewhere that has this for less. I dunno. Guess im stuck the wall wart with these units.

Here's one for $109.99.

It's for Ipaq 3600, 3700, 3800, 3900, 5400 And 5500 Series so, it should work?

Damn $109 ! Hog diggity.

I guess its not gonna be cheap to get one of these up and running. Wish the batteries on these units was external so I could switch out the battery as well.

Thank you so much for looking, guess im gonna have to save up and slow down on my palmtop purchases haha.

I do like these units actually, I have it plugged into the Dock and I can use it that way. Its weird tho, other than a Tungsten E i have never really messed with any non keyboard units. It def is not for someone like me who writes a lot and types using Word a lot as well. When I do get these up and running with batteries I think ill end up using them more for an MP3 player than anything else. If I get a Wifi card I could check my mail too. So thatd be pretty nifty.

Another way is to find a cheap 3800 / 3900 series on eBay, and get the battery from it?

Will probably not hold 100% charge, but better than nothing.

The 3800 battery will fit the 3955 ?

I found 4 cheap units, but I msgd them and they mentioned the batteries didnt hold a charge. But yeah I think thats what im gonna have to do and then see if I can find out how to recell it. Stinks the original batteries did not come with these.

Thanks for your research and help ;-)

I think so, the previous link (the $109 one) says it supports Ipaq 3600, 3700, 3800, 3900, 5400 And 5500 Series, so it should all be the same?
