By accident (it was intended for something else) I got a nice bag for my Jornada 720. The original leather bag is hard to get and most of these that I have seen have massivly degraded over time and are no match for a good looking (NOS) handheld.

This nylon "mens bag" is about 17x24cm and has two compartments for a handheld and something else like memory cards or small cables. It makes no sense to load it up to the max but with the handheld and a few small things it fits perfectly.

It is a good shock absorber, too, especially on the edges.

I use it with a 720 but it can be used with every palmtop that comes to my mind.

Very nice! I have the original leather cover (in excellent condition - it was new when I bought it), but this looks a lot nicer. The orginal is also not very pratical (bit large)

I have had this leather bag back in the day and I didn´t like it either. Too big and heavy. There was also one from a 3rd party supplier made for the 680 - even bigger. Noone made a simple pouch with just one compartment just to keep the device safe.

There is a company in Germany that manufactures your personal pouch by demand. You just have to send in the dimensions. I ordered one for an HP97 back then, it fits well but it is no protection against falling on the edge, just some elastic linon to protect from dirt and dust. They are still in business today, mostly for smartphone bags. Maybe I order one for the 720 to protect it when it´s wandering around in the business case.

Today I have only seen some worn out examples of these original leatherettes - definitely at the end of its lifespan, smelling bad and not worth keeping.

C:Amie: This one comes from Aliexpress for about 12usd (including registered express shipping) and is worth every penny

Really cool to see a good condition Jornada 720. Are you still able to get lithium batteries for it?

I just refurbished the batteries. There are no good batteries in the market, only degraded NOS for crazy prices or some used ones.

Have a look here:

.. and here:

I added some pictures to these threads.

I was lucky with the Jonada, it really looks like new and now the battery does, too, and lasts more than eight hours

I have a second one that I only bought for a spare battery pack but it came in the same condition so after battery refurbishment I will install a Linux on it. One for MSDOS, one for Linux

Addendum: Yesterday I fetched a new hardcase for the Nintendo Switch from the local flea market. It looked promising and yes, it has the same form factor as the Jornada and fits as if it has been made for it.

So now I have bags for all of my Jornadas.
