The Hp200lx Connectivity Pack allows full emulation of Hp200lx on J720 (and other hpcs like J680) running under pocketdos!

The connectivity pack can be downloaded from here after free registration:

Vetusware

The pack contains 3 floppy images which can be mapped to drive A in turn and installed by running setup.exe from pocketdos. You can install to any mapped drive that pocketdos can see. I chose a subdir on my cf flash mapped as S:CPACK200

In addition to a DOS environment, CPack needs an INT5F Palmtop graphics emulator. One is already supplied with CPack, called CG.COM. It is automatically called from inside the app200.bat batch file that launches CPack. You may experiment with different Palmtop graphics emulators, to get different - maybe better - results

There's some good info about this here:
hermocom

To use pocketdos native displaydriver, entirely remove or comment out the CG.COM references from app200.bat in the CPack dir. The image above is using the native display. Note I had colour selected, but display is b/w for some reason unknown as yet.

The image below is using cg.com driver:

I found that pocketdos complained of an invalid display mode if set to EGA mode (pocketdos settings/display/type) when cg.com is enabled, so I set to VGA and all was well.

If anyone tries running this it would be great to get feedback on this thread about what works/doesn't.

Cheers
Steve

Well done. Are you using this in tandem with a 100/200LX? Swapping appt, contact, .gdb?

That's really nice! Maybe I will play around with my J720 JP and Sigmarion 3 if it works on it.

Thanks! I don't have an hp200lx as yet, but that certainly should be possible.

I've been playing around with Pocketdos getting reacquainted with "good old" msdos and came across the hp200lx connectivity so had to give it a go.

It would certainly make the Jornadas a more friendly upgrade for hpx00lx owners.

CPACK has a basic GUI, to be sure, but it's effective in keeping DOS machines synched with each other. I swap PIM/Database b/w a 200LX and Omnibook all the time.

Running CPACK on Windows/DOSBOX can be tricky. This link/download worked for me without complaint.

Anyone also has the Connectivity Pack for the HP 95LX? I have this pack on two 5¼ floppy disks and unfortunately don't have a 5¼ drive.

It's on this page (cpack95.zip). You need the connectivity cable or make one yourself. See my topic on the HP-95LX. I wouldn't use the connectivity software though. I'd use good ol' Kermit.

Oh yes, I have a whole lot of 95LX serial adapters to 200lx cable: (e.g. 4 pin F to 10 pin M ),

A single one available at shipping cost (€2 / USD 2,10) which includes envelope, Paypal charges, walking to the mailbox (in the street), etc.
Plus (strictly optional but appreciated) a nice postcard from your area (empathically NOT via email!
One each per person until they run out.
Optionally included on request: A small length of 1.75mm black 3D-filament to repair a 95LX/100LX/200LX bottom battery cover: heat a paperclip, make a hole where the broken pin(s) are/were. Push in a length of the filament, and melt it flush at the back. Perfect feasible poor mans self repair. I refurbished about 30 battery covers already that way, and have enough filament left (to share out) for another 3000

Free pick up in Huizen also possible, including coffee and palmtop chat.

It is? I bought it this week on a Dutch classified advertising site (Marktplaats.nl). The complete package was the HP95LX (in excellent condition), all the manuals (funny that the HP95LX is almost twice as thick as the HP100LX or HP200LX manual) and the connectivity cable with manuals and disks. Only the Battery cover was 3D printed, probably fixed by michelbel

Is the 200LX cable not really difficult to get? I now only have the 95LX cable (and I hoped that it was also compatible with 100LX/200LX).
Maybe a trip to Huizen is the solution I need also to deliver the postponed package, could combine it. Will also bring limburgse vlaai!
