| Question: Do I set the DVD player to Slave? Even the mechanical disc?
Instead the adapter, as I set it, has jumpers, more than one!

I ask this because I'm not understanding anything! Edited by NarakuITA 2022-06-23 11:27 PM

| As I don't have the manual for the controller, I cannot say what position the jumpers need be in.
Cable 1 --> CF card (IDE primary) --> Old HDD (IDE secondary)
Cable 2 --> DVD Drive (IDE primary --> no device attached (IDE secondary) |

Ok now I'm looking on the internet. I also asked the shopkeeper if he can help me.
What about the DVD and the Mechanical disc do I leave them in MAster?
The adapter I will put it in the primary IDE, and in the secondary, I will put DVD and mechanical disk. I can only do this. |

| Like I say, you have to have two cables. One IDE cable can only support two devices. The first device is the master, the second the slave.
If there is only one device on the cable, then it should be the master.

| Yes, I meant with jumpers, how do I put them? Do I leave them as they are now positioned? |

| Voltage is for the CF card, so leave it alone unless you have a 3.3v card.
Master/Slave is the default and if the BIOS shows IDE0 Master as the CF card and IDE1 as the <whatever>, you know everything is in the right place |

| Ok, everything works now! I just had to put the DVD in Slave, otherwise the bios would not see it, when connected to IDE2.
The installation begins! In the end I decided to keep windows 95. I'm too fond of it!

| Decided you can live without proper USB support huh? Fair enough.
What is the plan then? What is your install process? |

| Nothing special. I'm installing all the programs I use, all the updates I have.
For now, the USB support of wuendows 95 is enough for me. The HP Jornada 720 that I will buy has a COM port connection, so I will not need USB. |

A Device attached to system in not Functioning
The other message:

The 7ZFM.EXE file is linked to missing export shell32.dll: ExtractlconExW. |

| Have you patched it and installed the IE shell update? If not, do so. If you have then sounds like the version isn't compatible with 95. |

| So this is a problem I've always had. I have never been able to resolve.
I've always wanted to install MagicPDF Printer, a virtual print.
However the installation fails as these two errors appear:

The problem has always given me even with the Shell IE.
Do you know a program that creates a virtual PDF printer? |
