It doesn't matter what machine you clone it in.

I installed the new CF DMA 7. I activated the DMA option and it caused a lot of errors. Windows crashes on startup, or it takes a century to start!
If windows starts Only the mouse appears!
What should I do?
In Safe Mode there is no option to turn off DMA at all.

This is the CF I got.

That doesn't sound right does it. Faulty?

Swap the other card reader back... you said that worked with DMA

Ok, I managed to get windows to start. the DMA Option is active.
However windows is very slow at startup, extremely slow.
I did a test and it doesn't reach the speed of the other CF. This reached a maximum of 8.55MB / sec against 13.55MB / sec. of CF vetch.
The strange thing is that if I turn off the DMA Windows is faster to start. By doing the test it reaches a speed of 6.40Mb / sec. Even though the speed is slower, I see windows start earlier.
Oddly enough, DMA is supposed to improve speed not make it worse!

It creates problems for explorer and does not start it properly.
Isn't there a way to accurately check CF?

I will wait for china adapter, CF card READER so use as USB removable disk. And I'll try to do something, a check.
I'll test the speed as well.
Is low-level formatting useful?

I forgot to tell you, that first I wanted to install windows 2000, on the new CF. However, when the operating system loads, it crashes on a blue screen. Some incompatibility with some device, but that doesn't specify which one.
Could it be the 100MHz processor? I would say strange, on youtube there is a guy who installed it with this processor.

Unfortunately not. By now I have installed windows 98. And then I went back to using the old CF, as it is faster.
If one day I try again, I'll take a picture. But keep in mind that the message is written all in Italian.

It's the hope that there is a stack trace that I'm interested in, rather than the language.

Your not having a lot of luck at the moment are you. You've made good progress though. It sounds like a much nicer machine

I'll make a video for you to see. Seems like the least I can do for you, given all the help.
Too bad it is not clear why the speed of the CF does not go beyond 14MB / s.
However as soon as the USB adapter arrives I will try to test the speed of the CF UDMA 7 on windows 10 and let's see how much the speed really goes.
Question, if the speed is fast, does this mean that the CF has no problems? So it might be incompatible with IBM's motherboard?

It's not for my benefit, it's just whether the stack trace gives any clues to help you diagnose the problem
