| The CPU isn't rejecting Windows 2000, you have a hardware, driver, BIOS compatibility or resource allocation issue. |

| That's fine. Then according to your indications, I take the Processor 200Mhz - SY045 Socket 7.
One question: In this processor , I see MMX written, but not in this one (Although the title of the sale says MMX).
If I'm not mistaken should MMX be better? I ask you because the other one costs less, and is shipped from an Italian dealer.
Which one would you take, between the two?

| MMX is better, that provide CPU offload instructions support for MultiMedia eXtensions. In all honesty, I wasn't aware there was a non MMX version; though I don't care to research it.
If the PDF says it'll take it, then would be worth a punt. For it or a 166. |

| The PDF you published:
http://ps-2.kev009.com/pccbbs/commercial_desktop/6577io.pdf
According to the description it reaches up to 200Mhz.
As also reported here, it can reach 200Mhz

| Don't forget you'll need thermal compound to re-grease the die.

| For the Thermal compound, there are no problems!
Then the processor is OK.
Memory Caches are now missing. You told me to take these 512k:
These appear in excellent condition, with the box and the User's Guide.
Do I proceed with the purchase?

Let's say that as for the processor, in order not to make a mistake, I wanted to do a review of the cache here too, which I have to get, in order not to make a mistake.
So I asked for confirmation if I remember correctly.
Then about the dealer, who sells the original box with the user guide and a memory that is in very good condition, or so it looks and should be the right one. The wording is the one provided by you: 92G7336 IBM 512K 3.3V 66MHZ

| I looked up the part numbers from IBM for you earlier in the thread, that's all I can do. |

| Cache'll make complex operations more efficient and can help in CPU rendered games.
I'm wondering if you experience the same BSOD if you try and run the NT 4.0 SP4 installer floppies?
I'm also wondering if the installer for 2000 boots if you disconnect everything from the IDE bus. If it does, then it's an IDE issue. If it doesn't then there is another hardware problem in the works. The worst case is the thought that it's a BIOS incompatibility as there's pretty much nothing we can do about that unless a patched BIOS exists (0.000001% chance of that). |

As soon as I can, I will try to install win 2000, but this time as an update. Let's see what happens.
For memory caches, there is a tipping point. The dealer consulted his technician. This is the answer:
Hi
I asked my tech but he does not have an answer for you
Sorry
You can definitely buy it and try it and return for refund if not compatible just pay for the shipping back , we will refund the cost of the memory
Sorry but we did not have specific compatibility knowledge for that item.
Regards
Alex
Then he sent me another message:
Also tech was trying to locate same system that you have in order to test it but unfortunately he did not find your model in our stock
Alex
Sure the 92G7336 memory is right? strange that a technician doesn't know. |

| I got the USB adapter. I tried the two Compact Flashes and you were right, the CF UDMA 7 has problems. As you can see it is slower than the other Compact Flash, normal. (except in writing )
It doesn't matter, I'll use it to store data.
