I did a video tutorial on replacing the cells in the J6xx or 7xx HPCs
Video is liked here

Its easy enough to do just be careful as LI-ion batteries don't always play nice and can explode if damaged or over heated

Question: I found this HP Jornada 720 for sale. I wrote to the seller about the tongue and he replied:
Hi, unfortunately there is no way to change the language to anything other than german. Best regards.
But is this really the case? I notice on the photos that there are several languages in the box, including Italian.
Really if I had to take it, could I somehow change the language?

There is a H/PC 2000 MUI file that converts non-English devices to English. I think German devices will be able to be converted to English using that.

Where do I find this file?
Can it also be used for the Italian language?

Here's the file. It originally came from cmonex's site or here on the forum. I had it saved on my cloud storage.

There's a folder called "For European devices". Copy the cab from there to your device and open it in your device.
Make sure you backup first though.

I think you can use in Italian. Never tried it in Italian, so good luck trying it out.
This file is for converting non-English devices to English though.

Interesting, I'll try English first. If anything, then I'll try with Italian.
But let's proceed slowly, since it is an operation that I have never done.
Now I'll take the PDA. I'll let you know later! Thanks again!

I forgot to, ask one thing, the system can be changed to English, but the keyboard? I know it is a German QWERTZ with all their uniqueness and inconvenience ....

I believe there is a key remapper.

I never tried but here you go: This should work. Others know more about key remapping.

Interesting!
There are various files in the Download session. Which one should I download that is compatible with the handheld I want to buy?

I was wondering, is it possible to change the position of the keys? If it is possible to detach and reattach them in the right way.

I think it is:
Remap ARM HPC2000.exe

I think it is possible to detach keys, but I never tried it. Do it with your own risk.

I would like to ask for a personal opinion.
I know that an HP Jornada 720 is definitely better than an HP iPaq pocket PC h1930 or Hp iPaq pocket 3970, but I'm also thinking about the cost that I will have to face; if I have to use a device to carry around, and I use it mainly to keep track of appointments, have contacts, take notes ... I wonder if in the end an Hp iPaq pocket PC h1930 or Hp iPaq pocket 3970 is no longer comfortable, smaller less bulky and costs as well less.
On the other hand, an HP Jornada 720 has its own little face and can certainly do more things ...
An advice? Personal opinion?

IMHO, I can't imagine why anyone would choose PPC at all as a daily driver, other than its cool retro factor. CE Geek will definitely disagree

But even the most basic phone can do most of what a PPC can do, PDA-wise. A J-720 gives you the keyboard and better writing ability.

In fact, the needs you cite--contacts, note-taking, etc--make either device expendable: a large-screened phone aptly fits your bill, especially if you're willing to give up the physical keyboard. And you'd be on-line.

HPC:Factor, among other things, is a site that helps drag these things into current times or for learning how to live with their limitations.

After weighing pros and cons, you still want a retro device, then I would get one with a keyboard.

Jake
