I miss the old days of simple browsing. I never needed or wanted all those flash animations and crap. Wish everything was simply straight text and fixed images. Tired of cookies and advertisements targeted towards me. Don't need emojis, emoticons, memory intensive graphics, or quadrophonic piped in stereo...

What ever happened to the KISS principle.

Very well said, Hombre! In terms of "cerebral bandwidth" all that "shouting/raining garbage" overloads the cognitive circuits, which I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before. Maybe explains why Biden is the Don Quixote of our times... the browser and/or the teleprompter did it!

Just downloaded the Brave browser... sweet! Peace returns...

Rest in peace! But for those like me, who use old PCs, they won't retire!
I saw a project, which allows you to navigate today without problems with old browsers, old windows operating systems:
https://github.com/ttalvitie/browservice
Obviously I haven't tried it, I don't have any pc with linux. Too complicated for me!

https://github.com/tenox7/wrp
I also found this other project, similar to browservice

Yes, similar to WRP proxy but uses javascript ==> so won't work on Jornada 720 with stock PIE browser (no javascript... only limited vbscript. Hmmm... does netfront on a J720 render javascript?)

Should work on the MP900c with IE6 as it does render javascript... could be a proxy based alternative to Opera 5 mini. I'll have to give it a try! Thanks.
