Take the sound card and USB controller out and then try moving it around the bus to the different slots. Some 90's systems only had full support on dedicated slots.
Ok, I'll give it a try. |

As for the network controller, that instead is an "Internet Connection Sharing" it has always been like this, even with windows 2000. The PC has no network card or modem. I have no idea why it detects it. The problem with that device is that the drivers are not installed correctly and cannot install them correctly.
I've always ignored it.
Come to think of it, that shouldn't be a problem right? |

| I have tried on all three PCI slots. The problem remains.
I disconnected the sound card and USB card, leaving only the Matrox and the problem remains.
Very strange because with the ATI which is not fully compatible, when I was able to make it work, it had not given this problem. With the old MAtrox too, no problem ....

| You should not have any conflicts on a new install, no.
Just to confirm: you removed the other cards fully and then tried the Matrox in every slot?
There is definitely nothing in the BIOS about 'Primary Video' or 'VGA priority'? |

| You can try resetting/updating the BIOS on the Matrox:
Make sure Matrox System Utilities are installed on your computer. (These can be installed from your Matrox CD-ROM.)
Windows 98/Me/2000/XP or NT 4.0 – Click Start Æ Run, type c:\matrox\util\pbioswin,
then click OK. Follow the on-screen instructions.
DOS – Restart your computer in DOS mode, then type:
cd c:\matrox\util [Enter]
upbiosdos [Enter]
Turn off your computer, remove the other graphics card, then plug your monitor into your Matrox graphics card.
Restart your computer. |

Question: Which tab are you referring to that I should remove? I only have the millennium g450 connected and the integrated video card. |

| That was a copy/paste from the vBIOS flash instructions. As you cannot remove the iGPU, you'll have to skip that |

| Interestingly, I found the only CD available, and it tells me that there are no compatible Matrox cards detected ....

| Is it normal that CPU-Z says I have a Matrox G400 AGP video card?
I downloaded VERSION 1.03 VINTAGE VERSION from the official website
I also have an old version 1.57 for windows 98 from 2011. BUT this doesn't see any graphics card installed. |

| The G400 and the G450 are completely different chips.
However usually you need drivers installed properly for GPU-Z to detect properly and there is nothing to say that GPU-Z is accurate. I've seen it and CPU-Z wrong many times before. |

| BUT if I use the CD, found here (since I don't have it ):
https://archive.org/details/matrox_201710
It tells me it can't find compatible MAtrox cards and can't install drivers.
Yet I have this card!
Matrox F7003-0301 REV_A P45270A Millennium G450 32MB VGA DVI PCI

| How can I completely uninstall the drivers?
If I delete the card on reboot it finds the drivers and reinstalls them automatically.
I want to do a clean uninstall of the drivers. |

| I then uninstalled everything from safe mode.
The card now sees it as a PCI (VGA ) Video Card Stantard
But always the same horror.
The Installation CD does not recognize the video card, I don't understand ...
These I can solve. I really don't understand why he doesn't like the CD. https://www.matrox.com/en/video/apps/drivers/graphics/previous/files...Edited by NarakuITA 2022-09-01 6:19 PM
