Is the Windows CE BSoD a hoax?

I've been having trouble finding any official information on the supposed Windows CE BSoD. There is a mention of it on the Wikipedia page for "blue screen of death" with an accompanying screenshot, but said screenshot includes a typo. This, plus the fact that a well visible BSoD in an embedded OS is a pretty silly idea, makes me somewhat doubt that this is even a real thing.

Does anyone know more?

As a long time Windows CE user (over 18 years), I can say that I never experienced BSoD.
I think, up to my knowledge it doesn't exist, at least for up to the Windows CE 6.0 I tried.

I think it's a feature for more robust systems.

I don't recall anyone talking about a Windows CE BSOD, but I have heard people talk about a WSOD (White Screen of Death, just a blank white screen) on some devices. It's usually attributed to insufficient free memory, and a soft reset usually clears it up.

I have never seen a "blue screen" in the contemporary sense, but I have seen CE hang and write debug data to the screen buffer; which is all a Blue Screen is, just padded out with some waffle.

I'm sure I had a photo of it at one point in history, but it will long be escaped to the ether now I'm sure.

I remember my device being all blank and white like CE Geek said. (Sig 3) The soft reset did the trick, but it was due to low RAM.

Indeed. I had the white screen, too. Had to remove/install the battery.

BSoD is a thing only with Windows95 and beyond as I remember it.

Thank you all for your input! I've deleted the Windows CE section from the BSoD article on Wikipedia since there's no sources, and there's a typo and wonky grammar which just leads me to believe it was fabricated. Plus zero Microsoft documentation on it which is unfathomable for an OS like CE. It's got to be a hoax

It might be that somebody wants Windows CE to look bad. It certainly isn’t.
