| Hi guys,
Here's clockworkPi's latest, the uConsole kit:
https://www.clockworkpi.com/uconsole
Comes in wifi or wifi + cellular and (4 ) different CPU options, 5" color display.
And they still have the large retro DevTerm:
Has 6.8" wide IPS color display (1280x480 )
https://www.clockworkpi.com/home-devterm
What do you think?
Which one would you get and why?
Mark

Subscribers Factorite (Elite) | I like the form factor of the uConsole as a portable with backlit keyboard and gaming keys but the devterm has a nice keyboard so for actual programming I think it would b much easier to use. I like that it has the retro look of an electronic word processor! |

| I agree with your assessment of the two devices......
Also, like the little thermal printer add-on option on the DevTerm....very retro and could be useful at times.
Very tempting to get one of these little retro bad boys....

| But what is it? Stupendous! But do they rebuild old devices? |

| I want to have the uConsole, as it has the Blackberry style keyboard. The form factor is kind of rare one these days too. |

| Wow, I wish I wasn't getting hammered financially right now, I'd already have put in a preorder otherwise. That form factor is too good.
Would be nice to know how nice the keys are though. |

| Asked clockworkPi for dimensions.
uConsole: roughly roughly 170x130x26mm.
DevTerm: roughly 210x212x46mm

| Another great find @stingraze!
The uConsole certainly looks like a fun little device, though I'm a bit doubtful about the keyboard - Are those rubber keys? I do like their projects in general, especially all the different processor / SoM options and the fact that they'll sell just the mainboards and other parts for a few of their devices. |

So it was! Apologies and credit to @ArchiMark for this one! Clearly I didn't read the thread properly...
In my defence, it is so often stingraze who finds these devices and projects...
Either way I do like ClockworkPi and how they're not afraid to come up with some seriously 'unconventional' devices. Not sure I do enough terminal stuff to get along with the DevTerm and its ultrawide screen but I love that it exists. |

| I didn't understand a thing, is it produced in Europe or in America or China? |

Apology accepted...
Agree that it is great in principle that they are making the DevTerm. Very cool looking. |
