Hello! Does anyone happen to have CE 5 x86's wceload.exe lying around? My device is missing it tragically

It's not what you wanted, but I may be getting warmer:
Found two posts, none of which actually have the wceload file (at least for x86) but go into how to deal with it when you do find it
https://www.reddit.com/r/wceload/comments/iu0krk/how_to_find_downloa...
This link has an archive of wceload for various devices, but only presumably ARM / Netbook / GPS etc I doubt it has x86

https://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/200222/how_to_add_the_cab_ins...
And here's the source of it all^

Edit: I've thought of another idea too. Have you thought of looking up HP or Wyse Windows CE 5.0 ROM flashers and somehow unpack the /Windows directory to grab the x86 wceload out of there?

I actually tried to extract one of the HP thin client CE images but it's a strange proprietary compression that fails when I try to extract it. I'll try one of the Wyse ones next

Does anyone have an operational HP thin client that they could copy the wceload.exe off perhaps?

I don’t think the CE6 version would work. If you find me a CE5 image for the HP t5540, I’ll flash and get you the file . (Supposedly it supports CE5 too)

I wasn't able to find a 5540 image, but perhaps this'll work..? It can be flashed with the /xb switch, which ignores that it's not the same model

I need your help - how do I flash with the /xb switch?
I already have the USB prepared and flashed to attempt this for you - I couldn't figure it out

I believe there's a batch file as part of the USB files with a command that runs on ibr.exe, add the /xb switch to that

Mine only has: FLASH.ibr, IBR.exe, KERNEL.sys, and a recovery pdf

It doesn't boot from the USB, and in CE6, it says the license isn't valid (obvious because diff model)
Do you know how I could bypass within CE?

I don't know how to do the network share install way, so I was hoping to just do with the USB.

Also, IsoBuster supposedly supports extracting the .ibr files, but when I installed/tried it, it said I needed to register to enable that functionality

That's weird, did you format it with the HP tool? It makes the USB bootable and adds DOS files

Hmm. It doesn't show anything with hidden files enabled. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Did you uncheck "hide system files" too?
