Hi Friends

I'm using the serial mouse driver on COM1: with my Mobile Pro 770, using an PS2 Mouse.

The fellow indicates that he has a working ps/2 mouse (via COM1 serial port) on a MobilePro 770. First, anybody know which driver this would be? (built-in perhaps?) Second, anybody tried this around here with any success? I didn't see any serial mouse DLLs on the device itself and I didn't see any serial mice listed in the HCL.

Thoughts?

Edit: I also found this https://github.com/battlecoder/ancient_hpc_stuff/tree/master/mouser
Edit edit: Binary download here: https://damnsoft.org/web/software/museum

I found a thread where they talked about it but only in regards to the ARM processor for the 720.
https://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=6562&sta...

I also found this thread where someone talked about CE serial mouse driver SOURCE (meaning someone would have to have the dev software to actually compile it). I know the link they posted is dead but try using archive.org (way back machine )
https://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=3297&sta...

Also in this thread someone mentioned trying Mouser on a different device and didn’t have luck
https://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=9769&sta...

And here’s the thread that started it all where they discuss it. Again only for the 720 but it may give some clues
https://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=5559&sta...

Also we need to get those programs in the SCL and the driver to the HCL! Great find !!

Thanks torch. I haven't been able to get the MIPS version of Mouser to run yet. I ran it through the depends checker and didn't see anything except COMMCTRL.DLL and COREDLL.DLL. Those are both built in the ROM right?

In case anyone else comes across this in the future, or was interested in having a serial mouse...

I pulled the code from the project given above (Mouser) into a new workspace/project in emvc3 and built it for HPC Pro/MIPS and it works great. Also was able to build it for about a dozen other platform/arch combos but haven't tested any of those yet.

With a standard serial mouse connected with a null modem adapter to my NEC MP 780 it's working well enough to play solitaire etc.

Unfortunately the license doesn't allow re-distribution with changes, but I have emailed the author to find out if he would be cool with us adding my version to the HPC:Factor github. I'll post back here when I hear something. In the meantime if someone is interested in getting this working for themselves, shoot me a message.

Edit:

Here's the link for mouser again:

ShadowMaster's site is still up. MouSer is still downloadable from there:

He's a longtime member here but I don't know if he's been around here lately.

I haven't tried it, but here's that Mouser program / driver for Windows CE, including a version for SH3 Windows CE (like your device)
