Haha. No, getting a bunch of disk errors again. I think the SD card that I'm using might be failing. Going to move everything over to a different one and try again.

Point taken. I use a mix of both but I have a lot more SD cards. I switched to SD for this when I was installing a bazillion versions so I could just switch them out instead of reinstalling over and over.

Anyway, I got everything copied last night, I'll let you know when I get emacs built.

Very minor update- emacs build is still working its way through the build dependencies (there are a lot! I think it's on like 5 of 8 or something), but no insurmountable obstacles have been encountered.

Still getting (a lot fewer now) disk errors with the brand new SD card tho, gonna switch this to CF card operation as soon as I can which will hopefully speed up the process.

Update: emacs is still building. I'm not exactly sure where it is in the dependency list because right now it's on a secondary dependency- and it's a big one...glib2. Happy to report I haven't had any more disk errors since the last time I mentioned it. I guess other than those couple of initial hiccups the new SD card has helped. *knock on wood*

Yeah, it's been a slog. On the upside, when this finally finishes it will have built a bunch of dependencies for other things we might want, so hopefully will speed up the process.

Yes, you're right, subsequent builds should go faster....unless other dependencies, but still should get better/faster.....

that's what I found when building on my lil' Zaurus SL-C3200 way back when....

Keep on chugging.....

Yeah and hopefully there's only a limited number of packages that absolutely have to be built on the MobilePro itself. After I transfer all these packages to my virtual machine I hope I'll be able to build a lot of things there.
