Hi all,

I recently purchased a HP 95LX from ebay, and was getting it fixed up as it had a couple issues.

While i was buttoning stuff up, i managed to short a 5v rail to another trace on the board and popped a transistor.
Really bummed because everything was just working perfectly, and now the unit will not boot.

Could anyone help me identify the part that fried?
the markings on mine are totally gone now.

Here is a picture of the component in question:

Really would be great to get this thing working again!

Thanks!
Alex

Checked it for you: Markings L4P identify it as a BAT54 double schottky diode. I found even the datasheet at

Datasheet archive

Now I just might glue four of them on a christmas card and send it to you. PM me for that. They were unsoldered from some broken 200lx boards but as they are pretty heat resistant they should still work. Ordering these usually goes at a minimum of 3000 otherwise (at 1.3 cents each, but still...)

And I do have some really ugly christmas cards you wouldn't want to receive otherwise

Oh you absolute legend! Thank you so much!

That is an extremely kind offer, but it looks like I can get them from Farnell actually:
https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1911820.pdf

Those specs all seem to match the data-sheet you linked, so think I will just do that as i can then have them by tomorrow.

Thank you again!
Hope you have a great Christmas

Take care to order the correct one with the polarity of the HPs diode.

Else you can take some common schottky-diode to fix the issue. Some mini-MELFs will fit perfectly.
