Sorry let me clarify.
When I say I test VBCE1.0, every single time I’d try leaving it .pvb but I’d also rename it .vb. Both were unsuccessful
Gotcha' ok. So I think that VBCE 1.0 on x86 is a no-go. There are still a couple of things to try for MIPS and SH3 though.

Congrats, I dunk for bananas. Glad you got it sorted

C:Amie: Some follow ups
1-Did a hard reset, redownloaded VBCE-2.Full.HPC2000.arm.cab
^Runtime Installs Correctly; Tried with a previously known program to function on the MobilePro 900 CE 4.2 - doesn't associate, thus does not run
2-My MobilePro 700 running CE2.0 is aliveeee - I should be able to assist testing your runtime, as well as dumping its registry for pvb in the next few days. So I recommend halting any .pvb (VBCE1.0) experiments until you hear from me

1. Okay. It was made a long time ago, so much has changed since then The attached is a new ARM build.

2. Thanks, it *may* not be necessary as I reverse engineered it from the .pvb DLL's

What is our target .PVB test app that you've been using?

Edit: I've rebuild all of the CE 3.00 FULL and CORE Runtime CABs in the SCL with the latest insights:
https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/1982/Microsoft_Corporation/Visual_Basic_CE_2.0_Runtime

Edit 2: 2.11 ones updated as well

Edit 3: VBCE 1.0 runtimes:
https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/2048/Microsoft_Corporation/Visual_Basic_CE_1.0_Runtime/version_5.0

MP 790 [CE3.0MIPS] / MP 900 [CE4.2ARM] / HP t5540 [CE6.0x86]:
All runtimes install correctly / VBCE 2.0 works / VBCE1.0 with .vb and .pvb extensions does not
Target PVB1.0 program is:
https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/500/Vincent_Collura/Airplane/version_1.0

Edit: fixed typo

C:Amie, I didn't know you liked horror movies. Watching a film about someone emerging from a gutter and terrorizing people and neighbourhoods doesn't strike me as your fancy.

Who said anything about watching someone emerge from a gutter to terrorise them? That's my Friday night!

On topic though, given what we know about the runtimes, can you add an x86 CE 2.12 specific set? That was the first x86 release on actual hardware (and officially supported by HPC:Factor in the Compaq Evos), if there's a way to generate a 2.12 runtime, we probably should.
Also, there are a few other CE2.12 devices that aren't x86 - like the Pocket Post Pet and some other obscurities. (though that's different than x86, because probably the 2.11 versions will work?)
I'd probably just make it a vanilla build with no experimental VBCE1.0 bits in it, since we don't have a way to test it.
I don't think anyone here has that model (I think only one user may have had it years ago), but it wouldn't hurt to have it.

I can't believe you! I forgot to British-ize terrorise. All of this work trying to curry favour has failed.

I did mentally comment on the Z use at the time and I died a little inside, don't you worry

Oh and it's pronounced Zed, not Zee by the way

I don't think I have ever seen 2.12 binaries for it. In fact, I have never seen a 2.12 SDK to add direct compile support to VS6/eVT.

If you know where to get them, we can certainly build it.

Yay. Does it work with this
https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/500/Vincent_Collura/Airplane/version_1.0
Try both .pvb extension or change it to .vb

C:Amie:
I installed the VBCE1.0 runtime on my MobilePro 700 - it doesn't let me overwrite anything in ROM (which is different than how later CE versions seem to be) because some of the runtime is baked into the ROM, but it let me just hit no for each dll and it added some more dlls and completed successfully.
