It seems like almost every .cab I try to install throws this error. I double click the cab file, and I can see the window that lets you select the install folder pop up for a split second, before it gives me the error message. Anyone else ever gotten that error?

edit: One cab that doesn't throw that error is the PVB Minimal Runtime for HPC 2000, interestingly

Can you try extracting the cabs manually and then seeing if the exe works?
Btw make sure you specify what cpu you’re asking questions about so we are in the same page

It’s most likely because almost all .cabs for .net cf programs look for an arm processor. Even if they don’t necessarily require one. If it immediately quits that’s why. If you check the ones I uploaded to the SCL I marked as working, you’ll notice there’s another file marked “inflated”. That’s the cab extracted so you can execute on x86. If you see I marked it as compatible with the hp t5540 that’s how I’ve been able to run them.

If you're a subscriber, since you have the exes, you can make your own cab files too with the HPC:Factor CabMaker

Could it be that the cabs I was trying are made for x86em rather than real x86?
