| Hello to all!
I'm using more and more my win ce 2.0 HP 360LX (italian version ) but I found a big issue: I can't do a backup of all RAM data to a CF card.
I'm a bit worried this way to go out for days without an available backup in card (and I can't for sure do a restore from PC while travelling ).
I tried CFBackup 1.0 but it gives me an error (see attachment ).
bUseful backup seems working ok, but I found only a trial version (30 days ) that mhhh... seems can't be registered.
Do you have any suggestion to do a simple full backup of data to CF on the 360LX?
Thanks!!

| How large is the CF card you are using? |

| I tried 32mb and 128mb CF cards.
I forgot to add that I tried also on HP 620LX (italian version ): same results.
Maybe is it a language issue?! Card is not called "Storage card" in CE file explorer but it would be a really stupid bug

| I don’t know if this would cause an issue but can you follow these two articles for the CE 2.0 portion and be sure the cluster size is correctly formatted for Windows CE 2.0?

| Thanks, I will check, but I honestly don't think so because the 2 cards were formatted directly on the HP |

| While I definitely agree that checking torch's links that it is formatted to FAT16 correctly for CE2 is worth doing, I would not be surprised if your assessment over the naming of "Storage Card" wasn't actually the culprit.
Microsoft gave no real MUI guidance for early versions of CE what so ever.
What is the folder called in IT? |

| In fact, I just had a skim through the .exe and superficially, it looks like you likely hit the nail on the head.
It seems to have hard coded paths for Storage Card\Backup\backup.dat and Storage Card 2\Backup\backup.dat |

| OMG
Card folders are named "Scheda di memoria" in italian, so they are unaccessible by CFBackup?!
Mhh very bad, anyway on other two CE 2.0 devices I have, this software works perfectly.
So there is no way to change this "english only" addressing? |

| I was considering having a look tomorrow if I have time. Likely no as we don't have the source code and it'll probably blow the resource offsets. |

I could change the folders addressing in the software (by a decompiler ) and it seems to work perfectly now!
Backup done, I will check later for restore function (one of these days probably )
Thanks to all, especially to C:Amie

| Wouldn't changing the name of the CF card in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Drivers/PCMCIA have worked as well?

I did this on my Casio BE-500s to allow them to read the autorun scripts, which identify the autorun volume as \Storage Card despite the card being initially named in Japanese. |

If you've already modded it, can you post it please and we'll add it to the SCL, save me duplicating your effort. Did you decompile or just edit the resource table? |

I tried this guide
https://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/200071/preventing_the_storage...
before modifying the EXE of the backup software, but it didn't work, probably because of the 2.0 OS: folder names didn't change. |
