Hey guys,

years ago I built a little handheld Computer with a microcontroller

The thing had a basic interpreter built in to be able to program your own programs. Also some built-in programs like calendar, moon phase calculator, etc. and games.
Yes and now I'm rebuilding it with a larger display

The device is - inspired by the Tandy TRS-100, VTech Laser PC3 and PC4,
and more - a portable computer with which you can do smaller things
program and execute on the go and also on the PC via RS232
can transmit.

As interfaces I have: I²C, SPI, RS232 and PortA to the outside
guided.
In addition to games, smaller MSR tasks can also be programmed in this way.

PS: Pictures added as attachments is still NOT possible!

Wow! very nice. I once had a similar PIC16F84 based device, but not with cool things you can do (software) like yours.
Mine only said "Welcome Professor..." lol.

Very cool, Citgo!

The keyboard is quite unique!

Have fun and keep us posted on it....

Makes me want to build something.....

Thank you guys.

I removed the keys from an old video mixer.

It's really a stripped down version of a keyboard. To write a text you have to select each individual character one after the other. Well, it's not meant for writing either, but rather for programming.

This is very cool @Citgo the B/W (or B/G) display is nice to use, I like the button choice they look very tactile!

Will you make a case for it too?

Thanks.
The display is a mega large one from an old heating controller. Since it is a high temperature display, it needs a negative voltage for contrast.
The keys are extremely easy to use, like a real keyboard. This makes writing much easier.

Of course, a case would be great. But I have to see how I can do that.

SUPER cool! Do you plan to have have schematics/software available for sale anywhere? I'd pay top dollar for this and if you can get a kit started for it you'd be rich.

Thank you
Well I could upload the schematic and the source for free. That's not the problem.
But first I have to finish the project. The code isnt really finished.

I would get rich if the device could run Windows and Linux

I decided to build it sandwich like. So there will be another PCB under the display with the controller and all interfaces. So the device will be not bigger than a Jornada. Almost.
