| Hey all,
Has anyone gotten to run eVB software on the Intermec under CE 2.11? Whenever I try to install the runtime, it seems to work fine until the final stage, which is when the installer hangs and freezes. When I then warm reboot and try to run any eVB applications, the current explorer window simply hangs and freezes. What could be causing this? |

| Not that helpful but here’s a thread where the 6651 was briefly mentioned

I think the 6651 in question was running HPC2000 though |

| I always install the runtime files manually after extracting them from the CAB. I put the following files in \Windows:
pvbctrl.exe
pvbdecl.dll
pvbform2.dll
pvbhost2.dll
pvbkill.exe
pvbload.exe
vbscript.dll
Then I put the object controls (MSCE*.dll ) on the Storage Card. Then I register all the DLLs manually to their locations using RegSvr2.exe. Works every time, on every CE 2.11-3.0 device. |

| If there is an issue in the installer, then best we try and weed it out. |

I tried registering the DLLs, but upon trying to register mscefile.dll nothing really happened, the command prompt just sort of froze |

| Sounds like you're using RegSvrCE, which is command line-based. RegSvr2 has its own GUI, so it doesn't require using the command line. |

| Does the device already have any of the DLL's in ROM? |

Whenever I insert my CF card I get a warning about increasing power usage, is that a thing? Does having a CF card inserted draw more power? |

Yes there were, but they didn't seem to be functional, nothing ran. It looked like it was just the "core" framework, but nothing worked |

| Did my installer overwrite the existing DLL's successfully or are they still the XIP versions? |

They were overwritten, they seem to have just existed in RAM like regular files |

| And there is definitely no contamination from VBCE 1.0 on the device? |

I don't believe so, no. That used .pvb, right? How would I check for traces? |

| Only if you had tried to install the runtime somewhere along the way.
Have you tried a hard reset? |
