z50 and Linux - help

Hi,
- Yes I crosscompiled using the toolchain from linux-mips.org (the SDE one) and did not find problems with make.
- AFAIK linexec was developed for ARM only.
- hpcboot worked OK with other kernels like a couple of linux-vr.
- I wonder if somebody has a linux box and will try to crosscompile the kernel for me to test and try to find where I am doing wrong?????

It should be in the same folder as the kernel source....it will be hidden because of the . before it.

Maybe TARing and GZIPing it would make your windows box accept the file.

Put in a floppy, mount /dev/fd0 , then cp .config /mnt/floppy/config ....You can leave (and probably should) the dot before config out. Essentially, just copy the file to a floppy.... It is simple text, windows can read it quite easily.

If you copy the file, you can upload it. If you have the file, you can read it. Simple as that.

No idea how to build a ramdisk( other than possibly using builroot but I do not think I will be able todo it)

You still seem to have some USB controllers specified in there, amongst other bits that you don't need. I'd set the kernel compile to the lowest required denominators to get you a boot up and a picture and work up from there
