it doesnt even open the port? no error message? you sure you used the right COM port?

Nothing at all, I will give a shot with the different com ports.

Where can I get a registry editor?
I want to try it with my Siemens C72 (Ive heard that the siemens are good supporters of the standard AT Hayes MODEM commands - and those Im know from my past projects)

You can get a registry editor in support.

Also a request: Can you please try to be a little more concise in your posting, you have posted different parts of the same request/qestion across 5 different threads, it's really difficult to keep track of it and provide you with a good answer if you do that. Thanks!

just a worthy note:

the registry thing is not enough.
I just used the nokia driver and it worked. but the registry set up didn't. Later, I when to the registry editor , just to see it did the same thing I did. So, there must something else to add to the registry.
