| I've been looking for the elusive Pocket Streets 1.0 for about a week now, and no luck! I bought a Cassiopeia A11+ off eBay and it came with no 'Windows CE Services' CD. Anyone still have it? I really want Pocket Streets
If not, what's the highest version of Pocket Streets that'll run under CE 1.0?
When I get a copy, I'll post it on my webserver for all us first gen users to enjoy.

| There isn't a CE1 version of Pocket Streets. I believe that at this time it was called Automap CE and was only distributed on the H/PC Explorer CD.
I have never been able to find it for archiving either. |

| Soon, I am going to get a Comaq C120, which has the H/PC explorer disc with it, I can then send someone the Automap CE, but unfortunately it was made in 1996, and maps are only from then... |

| As you are an archiver yourself. You'll know that it's not about using it - it's about posessing it |

| The converter is for PS2001, and by the by it also strips push pin / location data out. Not that it isn't a useful tool. |

| Straight from the evil empire's mouth:

Version 2.0 should come with Microsoft Expedia Trips 98, so I'll probably rummage around for it and hope it runs on CE1.0. Streets 1.0 is only available on "Microsoft Windows CE 1.1 CD-ROM" and "Microsoft Office 97 Small Business Edition CD-ROM" so I guess I'll look for small business edition.
Wait, would 2001 run on CE1.0? In that case I just need a sap with Win98! Edited by RandomInsano 2005-10-02 3:15 PM

I rmembering hunting all my MS Office disks a couple of years ago. I concluded that I don't have the correct version. |

| Dang...
Really, what DOESN'T need CE Services? And will services work with CE1.0?
I know there is a Pocket Streets that will work on CE1.0. A friend of mine had it WAAY back when the system was only 2 years old. Anyone have the Windows CE 1.1 services CE so we can but the whole myth to rest?

how do you mean what doesn't need ce services? for example, a lot of programs don't need it for install... i think only HPC Explorer works with CE 1, but you should check the support section, maybe my memory is failing me.
oh you're talking about CE Services 1.1... well that's H/PC Explorer 1.1 (and again many programs don't need it )
and no i don't have the CD.. but would like to have the stuff from it .... anyone? Edited by cmonex 2005-10-03 12:26 AM

| There is no myth - it exists on The H/PC Explorer 1.1 CD (Not CE 1.1).
Windows CE Services if the CE2.x sync client. All software written for CE 2.0+ needs CE Services - ActiveSync was just a rebrand for CE Services.
In order to install apps onto CE 1 you need H/PC Explorer as there are no on device installer options (e.g. .cab) under CE1. |

hm, but if you're lucky you can get away with just copying the exe file to the HPC. |

So, the Automap Streets is only on H/PC Explorer 1.1 CD, not H/PC Explorer 1.0?
OT: Anyone know where to find H/PC Exolrer 1.1 CD? |
