ok to answer your post.
it is the 4 MB model and i'm glad i have that because i consider that the "original", earliest velo 1
i didn't get the CE2 upgrade with it. i almost got it as someone was selling a velo 1 too, with the upgrade, but he just disappeared  so i had to wait until someone else had another velo for sale. but that velo has only the docking station+serial cable.
ahh and my velo is so nice, it never seems to have issues with the touch screen like other velos did sometimes. its screen is quite sensitive in fact 
which model is your velo, 4, 8 12 mb?
i'm familiar with the cewindowsnet link but thanks for it! any questions about the velo? i will try to answer them

Thanks for compliment...
Mine is the 4mb... I do not even really care if it is grayscale... I hardly use pictures with my Compaq 2010c. What OS do you use with H/PC Explorer?

| btw do you know jasondunn's velo pages? theyve just been taken off the web recently. i still remember reading them before they were removed..... but you can find it with web.archive.org easily |

i use win98 on my old subnotebook for H/PC Explorer it can't get on the wlan network currently (driver just won't load properly on the laptop ), and my lan card died. so i need to transfer stuff to it (laptop ) via a CF card in the pcmcia slot.. then, it doesn't have a serial port on it, i need to use its port replicator and the velo needs to be in the docking station... but this complicated setup does work!! ok, i see now, it is not US only, but still no go...

It will only ship in US . And I have been waiting about two weeks for my Velo 1, but when it comes you will see my signature say Velo 1 instead of saying 'soon a velo 1'
