Hi
Im new to the forum, but Ive been reading it for a long time.
I got a seccond-hand Cassiopeia A-11 (for about 60 dollars. I know , kind of expensive, but hey, in Brazil stuff is expensive). It works great.

I have only 3 questions:

* using Win2K, I got the Analogx Proxy , but it doesnt work...any other advice for navigating throught the craddle?

* How can I run H/PC explorer under WINE? (im using Debian Linux). It keeps complaining about the abcense of DCC (Direct-Cable-Connection)

* How to use Synce with my Casio?

congrats , this site rox! Lets keep the HPC-Lifestyle alive

Question 1: Ok, try this, in HPC Factor's Guide, it says to put H/PC Explorer's IP in AnalogX. **If you do not care about security**, do NOT put an IP address in Analog X, but do the rest of the steps...

Question 2: I am not sure, but what is WINE?

Question 3: I do believe that SynCE only works with CE 2.0 and above. The release notes state:
Quote

Make sure your device works with Microsoft ActiveSync

Matrixcore figured out how to get SynCE working, but has not told me yet.

Why try getting H/PC Explorer working under WINE? I think that it would just waste your time, and never work.

WINE = WINE IS NOT EMULATOR
its a "little" app that translates Win32 API calls to X Server, so you can run windows apps on linux...

about the sync with linux, a guy told he could run it, but never ever answred me again

and about hpc Explorer under wine, the guide says about HPC running under emulation...

I saw a website where the guy runs a FTP server on the device and connects with PPP to the device. but i couldnt get the connection to work. I only could make my Cassiopeia a linux dumb terminal (quite nice)

Because you're running under a different base system that doesn't use the same protocols for networking as Windows, you're going to have some trouble. *nix doesn't have any RAS...... Or they might, try a google search.
