Greetings Factorites, if you're a Branium DreamWriter owner, then you may not know that there are (were) software updates for your device.

There were three
A PCMCIA.dll update (which amongst other things should let the 3C589 2.11 driver work)
A new Floppy driver

and a larger Service Release which included (amongst others):
  • New mouse drivers

  • Pocket Paint

  • New serial driver

  • Outlook converters

  • Pocket word count

  • Image viewer

  • Paralell port driver

  • Power off / restert update

  • TIF graphics converter

  • Proxim driver update

Problem is that you can't get them any more...

So the better news is that having obtained them, they're now abailable to download from us.

http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/update/

They're only available here, so get them while they're hot

Edit: URL's changed to reflect V2 structural changes

The WiBook was the last in a long line of HPCs put out by them. I think Branium used the company name NTS Computer Systems at one point as well, or the same devices were sold simultaneously under a different company name. The other devices look very similar to the Wibook and just had different "guts" than the WiBook.

the only system of the 3 with the same design that had the NTS name was the DreamWriter IT... Both the DreamMax and the WiBook fall under the brainium name....

The links for updates are DOWN.
You are the only one who still have it but they are not accessible anymore.

Gee, I take it that is a hint from the unregistered user that they would like us to fix them...

URL's fixed then.

Sorry to have to ask...

The .CAB files don't include a setup application. How do these updates get installed to the device?

Thanks for making them available!

Nothing to do with us, I suspect that it's an error on your connection. We have had zero downtime reports since V2 RTM's. We've not even rebooted the servers yet!

Are you sure none of the files are corrupted? I can't seem to open the cab files and view the contents using several different cab file managers...or is it just me?
