Hi all, I just realised too late that .cab installations are suicidal in that they conveniently disappear after you install, even those in FLASH ROM.

I've tried in vain to revive them for my NEC MP790, so would appreciate if someone can help by sending me some of those cabs that has perished. Hope this is not a violation of licensing, granted I *do* own a NEC MP790.

Thanks for any help!

Somehow I get a feeling that this thread is going to be moved ... ...

Is this considered a request for software? My apologies for wrong posting...

Unless you have reflashed the ROM in it then the files are still there.

The MobilePro 790 provides the Internal FlashROM Configuration
Utility, which allows for the instant recovery of customized applications
even after a cold boot.
In Windows CE devices, the cold boot process erases either applications
installed in SDRAM or system files stored in SDRAM for applications
that are installed in FlashROM. In either case, users have to reinstall these
applications to recover the whole system after a cold boot (except for the
HPC default software).

Each application is placed in its own folder in the HPC Internal
FlashROM folder, and a separate Default_Info folder holds the application
files (Help, shortcut, etc.), in order by application.

He's missing the Primer installer from the NVRAM - or at least the profiler hasn't mounted it properly.

Little Ironic for me that I just mailed you Rich and here you are
