So if anyone have it, please email it to me, or the link of it...
thanks! |

| You can extract the CAB yourself you know. There is a guide in the support section "Extracting CAB installation files from Host Installers".
Also if you're going to post requests like this, the CPU would be useful for future reference. |

according to polszki (hello ), you cannot do that to the lucent and orinoco CE 2 driver host installers. you need the device physically connected.. i tried to connect my mc16 but it wouldn't grrr
btw just to help, it is a MIPS CE 2.0 machine (ahh that nice nec 750C! ) Edited by cmonex 2005-12-25 4:08 PM

| On the assumption we're all talking about the same file - WLWCE406.exe
It just took me less than 15 seconds to do it... so... *shrugs* |

where can this one be downloaded?
because it is not in the HCL.
not that i understand anything any more. i just tried the supposedly CE 2.0 lucent and orinoco drivers (MIPS ) from the HCL and they're CE 2.11 only. (and yes it was easy to extract the cab files ) it will not install on CE2. period. Edited by cmonex 2005-12-25 4:33 PM

| HCL for:
ORiNOCO Gold / Silver (802.11b )
I've already PM'd him the inflated drivers. fwiw
EDIT: The readme for that driver file you mention above states: Quote This software for ORiNOCO PC Cards comprises the following components:
Windows CE Driver v 7.42 and Client Manager v 2.06
Handheld PC 2000 and Pocket PC (WinCE 3.0).
WinCE 2.12
Handheld PC Pro (WinCE 2.11)
Windows CE Driver v 4.06
Handheld PC (WinCE 2.10).
WinCE 2.00
I take it now that this is innacurate? |

| cmonex,
I haven't corrected anything in the HCL. It's the same file reference that was in there before all this was brought up.
Please see my edit above. |

hmm, maybe my browser (opera ) was crazy then, i remember the hcl having such problems before (i remember they were corrected but who knows )
this is still problematic anyway
Lucent Tecnologies Orinoco Silver 802.11b PC Card (PC24E-H-FC )
http://www.hpcfactor.com/hcl/
or again my browser is acting up (i did double check and it is still the same, so.. maybe i'm going crazy ) |

| Again I say, I have not changed anything in the HCL.
The driver that is on the Lucent manufactured cards ponts to the same file because the readme states that there are CE2 drivers in it.
Now that you've told me the readme is incorrect I am attempting to find formal Lucent 2.00 drivers if they exist.
I will then update the HCL.
EDIT: The Orinoco range is crazy
It was created by Agere WiLAN Systems who are a division of Agere Systems. WiLAN then sold off the chipset to a new Agere child company named Lucent Technologies.
In July 2002 Lucent Technologies brought out Agere WiLAN and Lucent Technologies.
Why am I rambling about this? Because I'm trying to keep my driver library tidy

yes this means the readme is incorrect... none of the mips cabs will install on the 750C (mips CE 2.0 ) stating that the drivers for this OS aren't suitable.
i know you didn't change that link, and i understand now that you won't at all.
not that i mind, i don't have a lucent/orinoco/anything, just a humble prism card. |

I most certainly will
As you can see in the edit above, the range is a complete mine field of driver brandings.
The HCLDL is organised by manufacturer, and I'm trying to keep it tidy that way. As soon as I work out that Proxim have/have not released a formal CE2 driver, I will update the HCL.
If they have not released one, I'll link it back to the original Agere one, with a footnote saying that it uses a different driver
*whew* breaths
Thanks for the assistance. |

| polszki,
Would it be possible for you to shoot me the exact information on the back plate of the Lucent card that you have. I'm specifically looking for the device model number (not gold / silver but something like PC24E-H-FC).
If you cannto see that, the US FCC ID might be useful.
Thanks.
Secondly, I've modified all of the HCL Orinoco entries. There are now versions for Proxim, Lucent and Agere WiLAN. I haven't got any information on 16-bit Proxim versions though. Any assistance from the community greatly appreciated; as ever.
