So tell me this what would stop us from pulling a Linux trick on the OS upgrade. I don't know the full details but couldnt we just use the same loading process as linux and just make our units run on the upgraded CE OS? Now of course I know this is dependant on the processor support and what not but if I am not mistaken doesnt the SH3 process come in some of the 3.0 devices?

Another thought, we know that the SP1 and NSP operates by placing updated version of files into ram. This causes the OS to read files in RAM before ROM wouldnt it be possible to just give it a complete set of new files ?

All the above are complicated I know, and might not even be possible.

While files may, the boot sector and registry will not. Plus HPC2000 would need 32MB to the same level as a 720.
HPC2000 was never released on a SH3 device, although SH3 BSPs exist for the CE3 core.
