I know this is not applicable to most of you .. but those of you who have a linux machine running in the network (I have them both at work and home), you can just use the power of X forwarding via ssh and run firefox and thunderbird remotely from your HPC.

My needs from the HPC were .. xterm, loads of ssh to different machines, occassional firefox and thunderbird. And netBSD on my Z50 .. along with X forwarding through ssh gives me all that (albeit slowly ).

My Z50 has a wifi card and a 256MB CF. A perfect machine for those meetings and the times when wife has to check out recepies on the main desktop.

I am sure all of you already know this .. but I am sure this will help some people who, like me, just didn't think the ssh way
