The jornada 720 doesn't have a built-in USB host, so you cannot plug in USB devices into it directly. Your best bet would be to buy a PCMCIA or CF USB Host card that has drivers for Windows CE. Although, the one I've seen so far that is compatible with CE/HPCs is very pricey (can't think of the name of it off the top of my head).

Even with the USB host card you wouldn't be able to use a USB camera with it due to lack of support/drivers.
If you check eBay there are some compact flash cameras that work with the 720.

It's cheaper to just buy a CF camera

I believe it is the Ratoc Sytems CF USB Host card for I think between 100 USD and 140 USD (remebering from the top of my brain)

Only issue with a CF cam is to make it in a nice location would mean putting it in a PC Card>CF adaptor which would limit WiFi uses for apps like MS Portrait which is the only app on the 720 (or any PDA) that can use a camera on a PDA that doesn't naturally come with a camera.
