If you want a reliable card with good drivers that will always work, get a cisco aironet 350. If you want a card that conserves power...get something else.

Chris de Herrera's handheld web site lists the Cisco 350 as working with CE versions 1-4, but not h/pc 2000; also no information on WEP (i'd want 40 and 128 bit) .. do you have any information about the OS and WEP issues?

Thanks ..

The MP 900 uses h/pc 2000, though the manual has both that and CE 3.0 listed as the OS .. are they the same? will a card/driver for 3.0 work in the MP 900?

Thanks ...

Bob

Bob,

If cewindows.net has it listed as working with CE1, then they are incorrect.
Compatible hardware info and related drivers can be found in our HCL: http://www.hpcfactor.com/hcl/

HPC2000 is based on CE3, more info here:

Bob,

Most all of the 16 bit wifi cards will work with your 900. Certainly any of them that work for the Jornada 720. Routinely all you do is install the software for Windows CE 3.0 and then insert the card.

The HPC 2000 is pretty much synomonous with CE 3.0 as it is built upon the 3.0 platform, but is routinely used to designate the larger hpc format.

All of the wifi cards I've plugged into my 900C will work with the 900 as well.

Rich,

I'd be cautious about saying that "Most all of the 16 bit wifi cards will work" as it is far from the case. They are heavily driver and chipset dependant, and while numberour Prism chipped ones can be made to work with a generic driver. Reliability can often be poor and there is nothing available for most other chipsets.

Actually HPC2000 is a platform built from CE3 ("Tomato", "Tomarto")

No you have a Jornada 720 running HPC2000. There is no such thing as CE 2000.

Okay...hand slapped...point taken. There are probably 16bit wifi cards that do not work with the Mobilepros.

But every card I've ever tried (limited to about a half-dozen) worked fine. Although it might be worth mentioning that I had to use the Compaq driver on a couple of them, no drivers on some using the built in drivers, and some came with the driver on CD that was made to fit like a glove.

And the point: do your research first I guess.
