Happy Third Birthday HPC:Factor

Yes, that's right. On this day only three years ago this site sparked into life in that place we call the Internet.

On a March 7th evening three years ago a group of Handheld PC users came together to try and create something new in the community. What came out of that evening was the site you see before you now... at least in name.

Over the past three years the role of not only this site has changed, but also the entire community. We have moved from a resource that simply provided information to H/PC users the world over, to become an interactive, user centric hub of community activity. HPC:Factor not only stands as the largest dedicated H/PC site, but also as one of the largest Windows CE orientated sites on the Internet. For three years this site has aiding users from across the globe in the search for Mobile Freedom, and now a matter of weeks after the surprise release of HPC:Factor V2, we are in a considerably stronger position to ensure that we can continue for many years to come.

Of course, it is the community itself that makes this site what it is, so we would like to take the opportunity to thank our moderators and writers, the fellow H/PC sites for their support and you, the community for your support over the last few years.

I'll be honest--I hadn't touched my HPC in a few years and went PPC for awhile. Then I found this site and rediscovered what I had been missing. You are all doing a tremendous job with your informative reviews and tutorials, the HCL, and one of the friendliest and liveliest forums around.

Because of HPC: FACTOR, my wife not only doesn't roll her eyes anymore like when I used to bemoan the fate of the HPC--now she carries her own Jornada around.

To steal an old Apple slogan:
HPC FOREVER.

Much kudos to all of you for keeping the HPC alive and kicking.
