Greetings,

Feels like yesterday when this part of the forum opened (Linux/Unix). Perhaps time to tidy it up abit?

Best wishes

Well, It basicly depends on the purpose if the forum. If its focused on a information database then you should clear out the non-essential threads (threads serving no purpose).
If its more in the line of a community forum then perhaps you could create different subforums for different archs, for example Linux-Jornada, Netbsd-Jornada...and so on.

I didnt mean to offend anyone, just got abit frustrated while trying to find some info.

Problem is that we're not really at the point where we can split into different distros or kernels - yet! Once 720degrees and jlime start really taking off I think it's a good idea to have subforums...

This is an open community forum for anyone to post into who is seeking assistance about Unix/Linux running on top of a CE device. It is not designed to be a knowledge base, this site already has one. It is also a devicive issue over who classes what thread as "serving no purpose". From what I see on the forum index, there is nothing out of place here.

I most certainly wouldn't call it as "SpamOhRama" either.

Yeah, it definitely seems fine to me. Anyways, this forum is definitely weighted more towards CE devices anyways, and I am grateful that the admins actually made a Unix/Linux forum.

Though, you guys never did merge those threads that are still clogging things up...

I didn't want to merge them, as it didn't make sense to me to merge them: perhaps it was due to my lack of understanding, which is a distinct probability!
