I wonder if those pcmcia cards are supported under Linux. I bet yes. 3c589 is simply too common for not having its own linux drivers, and I'm sure I've seen somewhere on sourceforge drivers for Symbol Spectrum. All one must do would be crosscompiling on h/pc architecture.

I would like to ask if anyone has some experience with these cards under Linux. I am especially interested in Manfred (Debian port) and Shlack (Slackware port - not ready yet?) under Jornada 680. Donkey or Shrek users comments would be also highly appreciated.

Regards,
fijam

Lol, Linux drivers work completely different than CE ones. You would need to recode much of it, most likely.

You most likely will not have any problems with the 3com card. The spectrum? You might want to check more into that, it might be supported, but I don't know for sure.

As for the Spectrum I've found this, which has been abandoned a few years ago, however I suppose it works. The only question is whether a kernel or/and libraries support it under a specific distro. Has anyone tried it?

Sorry cmonex, but this is a H/PC Linux/Unix forum. Not a zaurus one.

Haha, you know I have wanted to do that for a while..

Yeah, I understand what you mean now. If you could try to find me the name of the driver? I can pretty much compile whatever I want now, so it could be compiled to work on the non-xscale in the 720.

If you have a spectrum card, Linux would tell us. But otherwise...I have no idea. Software packages?
