"A device like this with a newer ARM processor, more RAM, and an updated version of Windows CE would be fantastic. Unfortunately, that’s a pipe dream."

Actually, the Clio NXT would fit into this category, but it is quite pricey and AFAIK is only available (currently) to one of the ivy league's (can't remember which) college students.

I have a Clio-1050 and it uses standard CF card RAM. I have a 256MB card in mine and it works fine.

Rev.

Also, I have tried contacting the manufacturer and they no longer support the 1050 so no OS upgrades or intrnal ram upgrades are available. I'm still looking though..

they are from c-1050 units, I don't know if it will work on a tripad or c-1000. I'll send you one and if it works you can send me $10

I want to try, if it's possible. I'm in Russia, but I can pay postal expences

Good Day! Does anybody know - is it possible to use any PCMCIA or CF USB Host with Tripad or Clio? I've read many discussions on this theme, but never received direct answer - yes or no. Can this aim be attained with some speific hardware, or these machines absolutely incompartible with this kind of hw?
Thanx.

If you still have the original battery case, you can try buying two 18650 lithium ion cells from eBay or other electronics source and refurbishing the battery itself; you'll need a soldering iron for sure. I have not done it on my Clio yet (still has ~93% of its original capacity), but I've done it before on other laptops, and it's worked quite well. Of course, try at your own risk. Good luck!

Hmm. The PV-6000 was a step back in quality and look from the HC-4600 in my view, and it was a shame Sharp had switched to sub-notebook style.
