Question 1: What can I use the Jornada 720's ChaiVM to do?

Question 2: Is it possible to get the Linksys Etherfast 10/100 PC card (PCMPC100 v 2.0) to work with the Jornada 720?

Thank you!

1) hehe...it does work. But more difficult then even the normal java vm due to classpath issues. Quite slow and memory hungry. There are/were updates on HP's site many moons ago.
2) It's a 16 bit PCMCIA and it's NE2000 compatible so it should work just fine in the 720.

1) what updates did hp have for chaivm? do you still have any?

2) no no not all ne2000 cards will work. some will some won't. try it: insert it, it will ask for a driver name, enter ne2000 and you'll see if the IP dialog pops up you're one step further... and so on.

1) I might. Though I also might have just deleted that stuff recently I'll check.
2) True! So if it does end up working, add it to the Hardware Compatability List! http://www.hpcfactor.com/hcl/

Then check the light on the Ethernet card to see if it shows a connection.

edit: too tired

do you get the IP dialog popup?

if not, do a soft reset... if still not, out of luck.
