Hello,
after reading HPC, and few adventures with Nec MP780 i 800,
I decided to buy Jornada 720 and d211.
AND after all this with NEC,
I ALMOST KNEW, that it would be imposible to run the GPRS...
and now I load the d211 software,
and THE Jornada doesn't see the driver for PCC card ...
( UNIDENTIFIED PCCARD ADAPTER... )
What may be the problem with ???
Its the same after runing NOKIA GPRS soft - it say CARD IS NOT INSERTED.

Could it be that the d211 is broken, or the PCC slot or pins?
The card and jornada is "still hot" in my table ( hot - from postman )

))

please help me to run this fu***** GPRS connection

thanks,
mxc

I've used the D211 extensivly with my J720, and GPRS works excellently. If you inserted the card at any point before installing the drivers then it wont work, and you'll need to hard-reset to fix it (i think it may be possible to do this some other way, but im not sure how).

chazco if thats true,

go to HKLM/drivers/pcmcia and delete any new entries that could be the nokia card. be careful, maybe a backup before this. (for a registry editor i recommend phm regedit, www.phm.lu)

Hmm,
I found what cause that the jornada is asking for drivers...
When I pull out my sim card ( orange Poland ) and slip empty d211 into jornada,
everything works properly - not asking for drivers, and nokia software can be run.

So, may it be that I have a simlock ???
Or, may there is another reason, I made a hard reset, and when I was asked to choice the region,
there were only old-EU countries, without Poland, and so...

I will try to ask in Nokia Support ... but in 99% it would be to hard for them
to understand what the hell I am talking about

hey,
everything is OK
I am connected...
I solved the problem by pushing the sim card much harder into d211,
much harder than the factory default settings :0

Previous owner told me that this d211 is old and worn-out.

thanks to all

Ah, so just a slight hardware fault. Its very rare that the D211 is locked to a provider from what i have read.

Anyway, you've got it working now.

I've got problem too. I have good drivers, I have good D211 (works on PC well), I have good jornada 720 PCMCIA slot (works with another PCcards good) BUT with D211 it's misery. Sometimes it works fine but most time it tells me that "there is no drivers for this card, please, write down the driver name" or something similar. Of course when I try to start the wlan, it tells me that there is no card in the slot. I don't know what to do, it's not hardware because sometimes when it doesn't work I let it lie on the table for an hour or two and then it works and when I go offline and back online, in that case it dosn't work again, so, I think it's somewhere in the driver which thinks " that the card is not inserted..." Can anybody help? It's a good combi wlan/GPRS card and I need it to work propperly... I made a lot of hard and softresets but no change for the better...

One more thing: When I give the card into the PC and then into the Jornada, it works on Jornada without any probleme but after some time it fails again...

hi to everybody, i want to continue here a topic about this card
me and another couple of users are trying to setting gprs and wifi on this card
i would begin with Gprs config:
i've read that connection is simple, just plug in and select "easy connect" gprs..
this in part works because the drivrer seems to work, the level of the signal appears but i'm not able to perform activate...
i've seen that it should be selected an "access point"... what is it?
