Have a post, lets see what you are all doing with your H/PC's. Anyone got skins? |

| Nice little island! (Nicer little boat to GET to the island! ) Sigh. Winter.
Here's my desktop--sun coming through a miniblind. It's bright and colorful to combat the winter doldrums...but I'd STILL like to get something slick and dark...with white text!

| That image is called "Azul", from the XP standard set of wallpapers.
BTW it reminds me of that island in Super Mario Sunshine... |

| C: Amie, Snappy!, or anyone:
I've downloaded the SQ launcher, and have read another thread, in which folks also told how this program could let one use .jpgs instead of bitmaps for backgrounds.
I can't figure out how to to get an image to load; on the setup's first screen--launcher--there is a box for one to trace a path to an image file, which I have done. No image shows on launch, just the default dark blue background. Do I need to adjust background color under the "color" tab--or, simply, what do I need to do next, please?!
Thanks,
Willdao
Oh. I also downloaded Gigabar, but it doesn't apparently pernit one to "minimize" open windows by clicking on the taskbar program representations, like the normal taskbar does. Any help on how to get programs to "minimize" with this program? I'm all for splashy graphics (hence this thread and my continuing questions)--but usability must, of course, come first. Thanks for any help. |

| you need to create a folder in the app's folder.
eg ...
SQ.exe is in
\Storage card\Apps\!SQ (in my case)
Create "background" folder
\Storage card\Apps\!SQ\background
Store your jpgs in the background folder
Restart SQ if it was already loaded earlier. Press Tab to cycle through backgrounds.

| ok, something seem to be broken with the time limit for editing posts.
As you can see from my earlier two post, they are 15mins apart. But when I tried to change the first post, I am told I can only edit my post within 60mins of posting!! ... and now I cannot ... |

| Snappy!,
Thanks, that was a "Snappy!" reply! I'll give it a try in a little bit! I didn't even think that I needed to have a folder in the app's directory...what with most .bmp wallpapers stored in the Windows directory--which I also tried. I had a folder set up on my Storage Card; I'll just move it...)

| (Note, I, too had trouble editing a post after only about 25 minutes)
Snappy!,
'preciate the continuing help. I've created a folder within the SQ Launcher folder--even named it "background," same as you did--and placed my background image there. I meticulously created the path in SQ's setup, but the background does not launch--I still have the standard solid blue background.
Any ideas?
Thanks! |

| hmm ... do u have the directory configured in the SQ setup? The second pic shows the dialog where you specify the pathing ...
You will also need the jpg plugins for SQ to display jpgs. Sorry I can't pull from my CF card to give you a listing immediately as I have it redoing the NetBSD install right now.
Will try to see if I can find the files/link on the web instead.
EDIT:
These are the plugins I have active ...
GQ_GIF.GQP
GQ_JPG.GQP
GQ_PNG.GQP
NextPage.sqp <--- I think u need this to do tabbing? Gotta test it out.

| Thanks, Sanppy!,
No, didn't even know I needed any plugins--there was no documentation with the version of SQ I downloaded...
...I do have the path specified correctly in SQ settings.
Any info you can give me regarding these plugins--how to installl whatever I need, that'd be great. Meanwhile, I'll do a little research on the web and see whether I can actually find some documentation for the SQ program.
Thanks gain for your help! (I'll get my white text on a cool dark background, yet! )

| Well, even with babelfish, I taxed my little brain a bit on the Japanese and Korean sites I hit! I did a search for the .jpg plugin you mentioned, but was unable to find it.
I did find the nextpage plugin, and some others (all of which I grabbed), but none for pictures...so if you can point me in the right direction, that'd be great! |
