| Where is only one problem:
Then I try booting the Degrese720, see the text about PCMCIA/CFCARD manager.... Where founded my VFAT partition 128Mb "hda1" and 128Mb partition "hda2 <hda5>"...
..."hda: hda1 hda2 <hda5>"...
after that type "kernel panic"
for decompress was used bunzip in my loaded Knoppix4.0 UTM demo edition, with parameters "knoppix 2"
after ...
"mount /devhda9..." - where was original archives
"mount o -rw /dev/sdb1 /mnt/sdb1 -t VFAT" - where create FAT PARTITION OF CF
"mount o -rw /dev/sdb5 /mnt/sdb5 -t EXT2" - where create LINUX PARTITION OF CF
and decompress to this sdbs needed files with line "tar xjvf -C"
BUT EXT2 part NOT want links/ WHY?

| STEP-BY STEPS
1. INSERT THE LIVE CD (Knoppix, NOT DSL!)
2. ON boot: type "knoppix 2"
3. LINK THE SOURCE in my way is FAT32 "mount /dev/hda9 /mnt/hda9 -t VFAT"
4. FORMAT CF BY "cfdisk /dev/sda" => "mkdosfs /dev/sdb1" => mkfs.ext2 /dev/sda2 (CANNOT IN DSL!)
5. mount o -rw /dev/sdb1 /mnt/sdb1 -t VFAT" - where create FAT PARTITION OF CF
6. mount o -rw /dev/sdb5 /mnt/sdb5 -t EXT2" - where create LINUX PARTITION OF CF
7. tar xjvf -C FROM hda9 to my sdb1 kernel files
8. tar xjvf -C FROM hda9 to my sdb5 root files
9. Try loading linux by starting the LINEXEC and get this text:

| Try not to do that stupid mount o -rw thing. Obviously, your disk is totally screwed up. I got the superblock error when my compactflash card died, so that might be it too. | |
| |
| May be you are right. My CF card give up RW resources. Thanks for help | |

| Sure thing.
Did it work? | |
| |
| No. In our stupid country cant find any IBM and HITACHI microdrives for normal price, what really needed.
Some info, what I read:
CF 256 cards- 100,000 RW cycles
CF 512,1,2... cards- 300,000 RW cycles
CF industrials - 1,000,000 RW cycles (and price up by *2 )
I'am small scared for get hardbody memory. Like using ONLY HDD.

| CF industrials are good if they are less than microdrives. | |
