Anyone gotten this working in a CE 1 device? The GarMap Web page has drivers for CE 1 (and also has mfcwce.dll in case your device doesn't). I can open the utility on my A-10, but I haven't seen a GPS receiver that's CE 1 compatible.

the gps communicates with the navigation software, no need to install separate drivers for the gps, so they should work with CE 1...

Well, a couple of problems:

1) My A-10 can't handle the power draw of the CF GPS unit. (It would seem to defeat the purpose of the GPS if I have to plug the A-10 in.)

2) Where can I find a GPS-enabled map that can fit in the A-10's RAM (2 MB)?

And, last but certainly not least:

3) Correction: I can't get GarMapCE to open on my A-10, even though mfcwce.dll is present in \Windows. (I was confusing it with my E-15 and BE-300, where the utility does open - though I haven't loaded maps yet on those either, so I don't know yet how much success I'll have on them either.)

I'm thinking more on the level of marking waypoints out in the desert where I go off-road riding on my motorcycle. (I can keep it in my fanny pack and whip it out when I make a rest stop. No power source out there.) Maybe I'll try it with one of my PA-2400s. But I am trying to see how much I can do with CE 1.

That's nothin' - my 200LX has only 1 MB. (Even with DOS that's a pretty tight squeeze.)

PCMCIA - but it's still hard to free up enough system RAM to run programs. (There were some 200LXs with 2 MB RAM, though. I just wasn't lucky enough to get hold of one.)

The 200LX seems like a cool device.. Perhaps in the future, I could get one (but after the MP900)
