So I want to test Linux on my Jornada720, but I have to format it for Linux or something like that, right? But my notebook doesn't have a CF slot Is it possible to do it through my photo camera connected to my desktop PC via USB?

Buy an adapter that transforms CF -> PCMCIA.

make sure you get a CF adapter and not a Microdrive adapter

( type I is CF,
Type II is Micro)

Macmee: If anything, a microdrive adapter is better. See, CF II can take CF I and CF II, making it a much more useful adapter - especially when testing a Linux distribution like this. Walkalone: Get whatever is cheaper.

That means the card reader is too small for the microdrive in the cf slot. I have no idea why they wasted components like that - you can put a cf card into the microdrive slot.
