| I just brought a pc card for storing (5mb of memory ) files (im desperate to get my HPC playing doom4ce1)
it works fine on the pc i store doom on it
but when i plug it into my HPC the bloody thing claims
i need to format it . Fine with me ive clicked yes thier is an error
and if i click no i cant access the files eg doom4ce1
because apparently the HPC cant use it unless it formats it which it cant do !
What do i do . Format it on the computer but it was to no avail !
Help im new and clueless when it comes to HPC's

| Try formatting it on your computer again, but make sure that you set it to format the card to FAT (not FAT32 ). I trust you're aware that formatting the card will erase all data on it, so you'll have to copy the files over to it again. |

| I've noticed this problem on my mobile pro 770 as well. After doing some digging, i read that ce 2.11 and older tend to have issues at times when inserting cf cards.
The solution... insert cf.. get format popup.. clink no... remove cf... reinsert cf and continue to do so until it actually recognizes it without any error or popup.
It works if you have the patience. For me it takes about 4-6 reinserts before it works. |

| I've noticed that issue too a few times. But I figured that we should eliminate the possibility of an unreadable format for CE 1.

| Conarti$t, you say that you are using a PC Card here, that means you are using a ATA Flash adapter (rather than a CF card).
Can you check to make sure that the adapter is a 3.3v card and not a 5v one - there are some listed in the HCL. You shouldn't attempt to use a 5v ATA Flash card under WinCE - expecially CE1. |

| CEGeek, how come you have the Casio E-105 under Palm-Size and not under Pocket PCs, in your signature? |

| Cuz it's a Palm-size PC (CE 2.11 ), not a Pocket PC. (The first E model to have the Pocket PC OS was the E-115. )

| Thanks. So, if it has 2.11 and not 3.0 then it is not a PocketPC but a "palmtop". |
