Hello.

Although this isn't 100% H/PC development related, please help. Does anybody know if applications intended for ARM (in specific 1100) can be run on PXA 250 devices? I've created some cab files for ARM, but I don't know if it can be run on new PDAs like Dell's Axim X5 or Sigmarion III having PXA255.

I've created the CAB files from eVB

Any help would be appreciated

The PXA250 series is a hybrid of the SA1100 architecture. Files designed for ARM will 99% of the time operate correctly on the device if they were compiled well to begin with.

Your question though raises a problem in that software for the Axim and the Sig are not interoperable.
If you are programming for CE4 based devices you should optimise for XScale specifically.

Thanks for a quick reply. I also found out that CAB file (driver CAB) intended for ARM device works on Sigmarion III by editing the cab's first "11 0A" to "20 07" with a binary editor. I tried it out, but too bad I don't have the device to test it

You mean a hex editor.. a binary editor would be 'by editing the cab's first "1000100001010" to "10000000000111" with...'
